Once again, we are deeply excited to have had the opportunity to participate in the celebration of the Vegetable Festivals. A unique occasion that this year had a special meaning as it commemorated its 30th anniversary. This milestone not only marks the solid trajectory in the history of this event, but also highlights the deeply rooted connection between our land and our culture.
Once again, FHF actively participated in the development of various events: from organizing workshops to collaborating in contests and raffles, as well as donating products to various entities to celebrate different events such as tastings, agapes or the preparation of delicious skewers. A few days that had an agenda full of activities, with almost 500 events and the participation of almost two hundred groups.
Our team did their best to share our passion for vegetables with everyone, ensuring that every visitor, both young and old, took away an experience to remember. We are proud to be part of these special holidays and to continue strengthening the ties that unite our community around the exaltation of the products of our garden.
Vegetable tasting
On April 13 we started these days with a vegetable tasting accompanied by Malón de Echaide wines, Ambar beers and Coca Cola. In addition, afterwards a raffle was held with fantastic gifts among the tasting participants.
Gardener’s Award
There are also events in which we are present with the best we can offer: our vegetables, with which some of the skewers and dishes that were enjoyed during these days were made, such as at the dinner held on the occasion of the Gardener Award awarded by the Federación de Sociedades Gastronómicas de Tudela.
broccoli is cool
On April 17, in collaboration with +Brócoli, we visited several local institutes with the aim of teaching young people and adolescents all the benefits and versatility of broccoli. During the day, together with the kids, we prepared a wonderful variety of simple, healthy and delicious recipes.
Tudela Workshop on broccoli at the Escuela de FP Fundación ET Castillo in Tudela
Our colleague Ana Berdonces and Ángeles Piné, from the + Broccoli association, gave a workshop on broccoli at the Fundación ET Castillo de Tudela Vocational Training School where the students really enjoyed it and learned to make new recipes with this product.
Cooking and learning as a family
On April 17, in collaboration with +Brócoli, we organized a workshop for the whole family in the Tent of the Order of Volatín, where attendees were able to learn up close about the numerous benefits of broccoli, practical tricks for its preparation, cooking techniques and fun facts. In addition, they learned how to make their own broccoli pizza, a healthy and different option to enjoy this vegetable. Without a doubt, it was an unforgettable afternoon full of learning and fun for everyone!
Fruit masks workshop
On April 19 and 24, in collaboration with the ‘5 a day‘ association, the children enjoyed a workshop in which they created their own fruit masks. This fun and educational activity allowed the little ones to explore their creativity while learning about the importance of including at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables in their daily diet. In addition to the workshop, we organized a wonderful raffle in which we raffled off surprising prizes. A complete success!
General Chapter of La orden del Volatín
On Saturday, April 20, we had the pleasure of accompanying La Orden del Volatín during the celebration of its General Chapter within the framework of the Vegetable Festivals. This traditional event took place like every year in the Plenary Hall of the Tudela City Council, where the titles of lady and knight of honor were awarded, highlighting two names: the renowned journalist Mariló Montero and the chef Rodrigo de la Calle. It was an honor for us to be able to be present once again at this ceremony.
One more year, ‘La Pandi’ came to visit us
Children are also the main protagonists of these festivities, with participation in a multitude of events led by ‘Brocolín y su Pandi‘, both in schools and in some activities held during the festivities.
Interactive healthy eating workshop
On April 24 we went to the Tent of the Order of Volatín with ‘La Pandi’ and spent a fun afternoon learning about the importance of healthy eating in the company of ‘Brocolín’ and his friends.
Visiting the Ribera schools
From April 15 to 26, ‘La Pandi’ visited up to 9 schools in Tudela and La Ribera, promoting healthy eating among the little ones through different workshops, games and activities, especially through the consumption of fruits and vegetables. This year, as a novelty, ‘The Pandi and the Magic Slippers’ was released, a storyteller through which the little ones can learn about the new adventures of our favorite gang, while discovering the importance of a balanced diet.
More than two weeks in which we have immersed ourselves fully in the festivities, sharing with you unique experiences in countless events where there was no shortage of music, joy, traditions, and above all, the best of our gastronomy. Thanks to the organizers for filling our streets with life again these days and attracting visitors from all corners of the world to discover our garden wonders.
