FHF joins the ‘5 a day’ Association for Healthy Eating

The commitment to promoting healthy eating is one of the fundamental bases of our company.

We firmly believe in the power of fresh food, which is why we have decided to be part of the ‘5 a day’ Alliance. A way to reflect our conviction in the importance of encouraging the daily consumption of at least five servings of fruits and vegetables.

The ‘5 a day’ movement: a global commitment to health

The ‘5 a day’ movement emerged in the United States in 1989 as a response to the growing deterioration in eating habits and low consumption of fruits and vegetables, which was associated with increased health risks, including chronic diseases such as obesity and the hypertension. This movement has become a global strategy that promotes the daily consumption of fruits and vegetables in more than thirty countries on five continents.

Currently, the Global Alliance for the Promotion of Fruit and Vegetable Consumption ‘5 a day’ (AIAM5) brings together more than 40 national and international entities, all committed to promoting healthier eating.

The benefits of joining ‘5 a day’

Our joining this alliance is an important step in our commitment to the health and well-being of our clients and society in general. By joining ‘5 a day’, we will collaborate in spreading the health benefits of daily consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables and improving eating habits.

Within the alliance, there are different types of partners, and we belong to the ‘Professional Partner’ category. This means that as a company, our main business is the production, trade, distribution and/or services related to fruits and vegetables. Our active participation in this alliance not only supports our business mission, but also reinforces our social responsibility.

Through this new commitment, we hope to contribute to the improvement of eating habits and the reduction of chronic diseases. Our company will continue to work tirelessly to promote healthier eating and to convey the benefits of consuming fruits and vegetables as part of a balanced diet.
