During these days there are tastings, exhibitions, talks, tastings or cooking workshops, among others. At Frutas y Hortalizas de Fontellas we have been collaborating with these conferences for several years, for example with the donation of trays with products to different entities that are later used in workshops, exhibitions or tastings.

What are the Vegetable Festivities?
These are festivals of tourist interest that are held annually in the Navarran town of Tudela, extending to other towns in the Ribera and whose purpose is to honor and exalt the vegetables of this land.
These days are organized by the Order of the Volatín, together with the collaboration of the Government of Navarra and the City Council of Tudela, and usually take place during the end of April and the beginning of May. During its celebration there are tastings of products from the area, exhibitions, talks, workshops or tastings, as well as theatrical performances, cultural visits or round tables.
FHF with the XXVII Vegetable Festivities
During this year we have wanted to contribute in a special way to these days by collaborating in different activities, especially with the little ones in order to make them aware of the importance of a healthy diet.
‘ Brocolín and La Pandi’ arrive at the schools of Tudela
What father is not worried about the feeding of his children? From this concern arises the educational program ‘Brocolín y la Pandi’, created by the company Sakata Seed Ibérica . It is a pedagogical workshop whose main objective is to promote a healthy diet, especially with the consumption of fruits and vegetables. This initiative is aimed mainly at students from 1st to 4th grade of primary school through which children learn to eat better, in addition to human and environmental values.
What is the workshop about?
It is a series of interactive games, sensory experiences with food, as well as a series of children’s animation in which ‘Brocolín y la Pandi’ come to life to live fun adventures.
During these weeks Brocolín and his friends have visited the different schools in Tudela, entertaining the little ones and teaching what a healthy diet consists of and the importance of fruits and vegetables in it. The little ones have had a great time and have learned a lot with their new friends.
But not only with this initiative we have wanted to collaborate with this year’s conferences. We also wanted to be present in different ways and initiatives:
- Gift and delivery of a box of artichokes from Tudela to each of the Brotherhoods twinned with the Brotherhood of the Volatín.
- ‘Cooking with broccoli’ contest organized by ‘ + Broccoli i’, which invites children to prepare a recipe with broccoli with the help of their parents. Among the participants, 20 children’s aprons with an exclusive design were raffled.
- Contest with a safe prize ‘¡Cocinar en familia!’: The students attending the ‘Brocolín y La Pandi’ workshop were able to participate in this activity in which they had to prepare a recipe with broccoli as one of the main ingredients, with the help of His parents. All participants received a plush toy of a character from ‘La Pandi’.

FHF receives the Exaltation of the Vegetable award
Also this year FHF has received the ‘Exaltation of Vegetables’ award. A distinction with which the organization has wanted to thank our contribution and involvement in the ‘Vegetable Festival’ throughout all these years through the donation of products and participation in different events.
The ceremony took place in the Tudela City Hall with the presence of the mayor and several representatives of the organizing entity, and the award consisted of the delivery of a commemorative plaque that was collected by our manager Diego Orta.
From here we want to thank the Order of the Volatín for this special recognition for us, something that makes us feel very proud and that undoubtedly drives our decision to continue supporting these very important days for Tudela and its Ribera. Also thank you for your great work during all these years with the organization of this important event, giving the value and recognition that a product as appreciated as our vegetables deserves.
